About
Komagelv is about 30 km long and has its source on the Varanger peninsula's mountainous expanses. It flows from there through a variation-rich and beautiful tundra area, on his way to the coast. At the top of the river flowing down through the mountain valleys and the final 10 kilometers through the tundra with "barren of vegetation." The river finally flows into the Varanger fjord about 40 km west of Vadso and east of Vardo.
Fishing
The river is salmon live on a stretch of about 30 kilometers. The river is complete, base and plate. There is little or no hiking barrier to fish in the river.
In 2006 and 2007 were caught more than 4.5 tonnes of salmon which is considered to be really good at a little salmon river with a few fishermen.
Salmon stocks in Komagelva dominated by small and mid-salmon, but also has a good share great laks. The catch of sea trout are small, as it goes up the river so late that it is almost always fishing when it arrives. artic char are also found in this river, and catch statistics show that on average, between 2000 and 2007 is about 300 kg per year.

The beauty of Komagelva is that it is not divided into private waters. When you have purchased a fishing license, you can freely wander and try different river sections, unless otherwise indicated.

Fishing licenses cost from 200 NOK and upwards and is regulated for the traveler. Fishing licenses are sold in the estuary of the river and it's first come first served applies.
