The Plahte estate has five cabins for rental in the area. The lower one, Granbostad, is both for trout fishing in numerous lakes, and salmon/sea trout fishing in the Åelva river. The two cabins at the upper end of the lake gives good lake and river fishing for trout. The two uppermost cabins, is rented out for high quality mountain trout fishing in numerous lakes.

The upper part of the Åelva river has the densest population of spawning salmon I northern Norway. In the lake and Åbjøra, trout is still the dominant fish. It is not uncommon with river trout over 1 kg. The upper part is considered one of the best mountain trout areas in Norway.
