Sävån has its outlet in the lower Göta River in Gothenburg harbor, extending up to Lake Aspen at Jonsered. It belongs to one of the region's more popular salmon fishing and is known for its large adult salmon tribe. Salmon over 10 kg are caught annually and in 2005 added new salmon record of 17.642 kg. It captured about 75-150 salmon per year with an average weight of just under 5kg.

The fishing is split into two parts Sävedals waters, located in the Partille and extending to the river's outlet to the sea at the harbor of Gothenburg (Gota Canal). There are no restrictions on fishing licens and it is therefore easily accessible. Jonsered water is stretch from Jonsered and down. Here lies the most scenic stretch of beautiful streams and small rapids necks. There is a limited amount of fishing license

Partille Angling club disposes Jonsered waters and conducts extensive work with the service and supervision around the fishery. Jonsered fishing is limited and you must seek license to stretch. making it more difficult to access.

Own memory when I took my first salmon in Säveån. After consultation of a local salmon fishermen i got tips that if I stood all day at the bridge in partille I would be able to catch a salmon. How right he was, I got my first salmon ever 1987 Salmon fisherman came later by and saw that I had one and lost one. Guess if he could hurry home and get fishing stuff. Regards from Roland
